The instant I laid eyes on Oscar, I knew he was destined for stardom. As my German shepherd Phoebe approached him, Oscar cracked open one eye, as if to say, “Whatever,” before promptly shutting it again. In that moment, I could practically see the director’s chair with his name on it.
